Welcome
CLAP is a program which uses physical theatre, movement, improvisation & imagination exercises to help develop children socially, mentally and physically. Through a safe environment and small class sizes, your child can learn how to successfully engage with others through greater confidence and communication skills.
CLAP’s curriculum has been developed by owner & qualified teacher, Naomi Stewart. Through physical theatre, movement, improvisation & imagination exercises, CLAP’s curriculum focuses on children’s social, emotional, mental and physical development.
We value each individual and recognise every student develops at his/her unique pace, therefore, CLAP’s curriculum is broken up into stages, rather than age groups. Progression is based on teacher observation & assessment alongside discussion with the child’s guardian.
At CLAP, your child has the opportunity to reach their full potential through creative learning and alternative play. We value your child’s individuality, therefore CLAP class sizes are small, to ensure we are able to give each student our full attention.
Our focus is not to create the next generation of ‘stars’, rather to help your child develop in areas such as:
- CONFIDENCE
- COMMUNICATION (Projection, articulation, eye contact, working with others etc.)
- FITNESS (Posture, understanding of nutrition, greater body awareness, eye hand coordination, strength etc.)
Each lesson runs between 45minutes – 1hour and is based around a positive theme. Some themes include:
- Fruit
- Under the Sea
- Trees
- Recycling
- Insects
- Australian animals
